Alternative navigation is any type of assistive technology that replaces a standard keyboard or mouse. It is primarily used by individuals with physical mobility challenges.
Here are two examples of alternative navigation:
- Facial Tracking
- Voice commands
In addition to digital tools, there are devices designed to assist with navigation, such as:
- Chin Switches
- Sip and Puff : Used to send signals to a device using air pressure by "sipping" or "puffing" through a straw, tube, or wand.
- Eye Tracking : An eye tracker is a device that measures the position and movement of the eyes in order to control on-screen devices.
And many others!
